I hate my job.It is much more than i deserve given that i hadnt put in as much effort as i should have in academics ,while in school or college,as i should have. For me 'extra curricular activities' was the real thing and studies was the 'Extra' part.My job is the kind of white collar job every parents dream their kid would have when they take pains even to shift their homes so that their kids could go to decententrance coaching centres.
While i was in school i never dreamt of becoming an engineer. What's more,Ididnt dream of becoming an engineer when i went to PC thomas's entrance coaching centre.I went therebecause all my freinds where going and my dad thought I should. When i did get into an engineering collegeand toiled there for 4 years i had a change of attitude and started thnking ,may be getting a job would'nt be all thatbad afterall..But never in a million years did i think i would be spending my days typing in meaningless words into the computer, hoping whatever i have typed in is not utter rubbish, and spending nights with bothering dreams aboutmy code not working or something as worthless as that.
I envy Arathy(Partner 1 in crime, one of the owners of this blog) for the job she has.Though being a lecturer may not add anything further to your skill set(who cares!!i just wrote this here because that's the only draw back people find in teaching while weighing options.),it allows you to live ahuman life. She atleast does not spend her days among people who keeps on saying 'At the end of the day' and 'The exit door'and 'Be Proactive' and the likes ..(i wanted to add a few more of those to the list..but nothing else is coming to my mind right now..Thank GOD!I'm not as affected as i thought i was)..She atleast gets time to sleep to her hearts content, and gets holidays for christmasand Onam(10+10 =20 days!!!!!!: O)...She atleast gets to stay home..
I would'nt mind all 3 of us going back to our good ol' Jyothi engg college as lecturers. I dont think Sony (Partner 2 in crime, another owner of this blog)would be anything less than exhiliarated if I i tell her this because I personally think she hates her job as much as I do(both of us do more or less the same thing)..and arathy would'nt mind either cos she'll be doing what she's still doing, only at a better place..but all 3 of us should go there togetheror else jyothi wouldnt be jyothi..all the familiar walls and corridors will somehow look strange if i dont have the 2 of them on either sideof me..Too many memories are floating back now..of the 4 merry years we spent there together..but those will have to wait till next time to be put into words..till then..
Cheers,
